Calls For Supports To Be Put In Place To Secure Shannon Airports Future

The Government is being urged to put supports in place to allow Shannon Airport a fighting chance against Dublin.

A number of local councillors have indicated that the National Planning Framework, a rejuvenation plan running until 2040, should have an active part in boosting the airport.

It comes as it’s been revealed that Dublin Airport accounts for almost 85% of Ireland’s air traffic – with Shannon accounting for just 5%.
