Clare County Council is being called on to source more funding so that the county’s bridges and culverts can be inspected and made safe.
It follows issues in recent months which saw bridge emergency repair works carried out on Cloontra East bridge on the Clonlara to Sixmilebridge Road – while issues have also come up in Cratloe.
Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe is concerned that next time, it could result in a serious injury or worse.
