A former Clare TD is calling on the county's current representatives to lobby against the building of a third runway at Dublin airport.

The move is being considered as part of review of congestion at the country's largest airport, which is set to experience a rise of two million in passenger numbers this year.
However, ex-Labour TD Michael McNamara insists that the second runway at Shannon Airport should instead be used to relieve pressure on Dublin.
He believes Clare's government TDs need to strongly oppose any plans for another runway in the capital.
