Calls Made For Full Implementation Of Irish Strategy

Calls have been made in Clare for the government to return to its 20 year strategy for the Irish Language.

It comes after figures from the latest census shows that the number of Irish speakers in the county has dropped by 1,000, with just under 1,500 using the language daily outside of education.

The 20 Year Strategy for the Irish Language aims to increase the number of daily Irish speakers in the country from 83,000 to 250,000.
