Calls have been made for a knotweed specialist to be appointed in Clare.
It comes as a series of free public workshops have been announced for Ennis, Killaloe, Shannon and Miltown Malbay on controlling Japanese knotweed and other non-native invasive plants.

Its recognised as one of the most problematic weeds, and it’s widely believed that it can cause damage to buildings.
Botanist Dr Frances Giaquinto, who’s addressing the workshops, says there are many infestations ins this county, and while she’s commended the work of the local authority in addressing the matter, she believes more can be done:
