The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has recorded the highest number of patients on trolleys since January 2020 today, with University Hospital Limerick by far the most overcrowded.

There were 92 patients waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital during morning rounds, 47 of those on trolleys in the ED.
They were among 760 patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
INMO general secretary, Phil Ní Sheaghdha, says hospitals simply cannot cope in these conditions.
