Calls have been made for the HSE to update the required standards for general practitioners.

The Executive has said that HIQA is expected to take over the regulation of doctors clinics, though it's not known when this will occur.
Current regulations date back to the 1970s, and Ennis Fianna Fail Councillor Brian Meaney says the situation needs to be addressed after a survey of practices in England found a third were not up to scratch.
He says it's important checks are in place to ensure a high standard of care here.
