There have already been a number of collisions on the stretch between Ballyline and Crusheen and further incidents on the Tubber road near the entrance to the work site.
North Clare Councillor Michael Kelly has raised the issue with road engineers at Clare County Council as he believes the current situation is a fatality waiting to happen
