Calls have been made for additional funding to be provided for social housing in Co. Clare.
General election hopeful Ian Lynch says, in spite of the fact 180 million euro has been released for 1000 housing units around the country, none of this went to Clare last year and he also fears no accomodation will be built in 2016.
The Independent candidate has expressed anger and disappointment at the lack of funding, saying it's unacceptable in the light of the close to 4000 families on the social housing waiting list in the county.
He claims the shortage of accomodation is an issue that's come up time and again on the doorstep during this election campaign.
