Calls for Investment in UL Hospitals Group

A trade union representing nursing staff in the MidWest has issued a call for funding to help ease overcrowding in the region.

300 members of SIPTU will join their colleagues in the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation in a work-to-rule which will begin at Ennis General and a number of other hospitals next month.

Last week, the UL Hospitals Group announced that it's hiring 48 new nurses in a range of roles, though nursing representatives have claimed that there are up to 100 nursing vacancies in the region.
