Calls are growing for an increased Garda presence in Shannon amid a rise in distressing incidents of anti-social behaviour.
It comes amid local complaints of fireworks being let-off on an almost nightly basis near the Brú na Sionna housing estate.

The chief concerns from residents have included dogs becoming severely distressed, windows being struck by projectiles and fireworks either landing near the woods and soaring marginally above residential rooftops.
Shannon resident Mike O’Loughlin says the lack of Gardaí on the ground has allowed reckless behaviour and illegal activity to become the norm.
