Tourism operators in Clare say they share the optimism of Fáilte Ireland, who say 2014 has been a bumper year for the sector.
Failte Ireland's annual review for 2014 shows there has been record numbers from the US and Canada this year, as well as growth in overseas and domestic markets
Almost eight out of ten businesses working in the sector, meanwhile, are optimistic about prospects for next year including some here in Clare.
The Wild Atlantic Way driving route has been cited as one positive in Clare, and Donnagh Gregson of the Bunratty Cookery School, who is chairperson of the Clare Tourism Forum, says efforts are now needed to ensure that it benefits all of the county and not just coastal areas.
Another reason for positivity has been the influx of passengers at Shannon Airport this year, and Lahinch hotellier Michael Vaughan thinks this should be borne in mind when trying to entice more visitors.
There has been a word of warning, however.
While hugely valuable to the local economy, Clare's tourism sector is only half the size of that in Kerry and Michael Vaughan thinks the key to resolving this is in Ennis.
He's callin for efforts to boost the town and make it more attractive to locals and visitors alike.
