Disability Campaigners in Clare are calling for the beach in Lahinch to be made wheelchair accessible.
It follows the announcement of a quarter of a million euro in funding to upgrade Marine infrastructure along Lahinch promenade and at Liscannor pier.
Works already listed to be carried out include stone paving at Liscannor pier along with upgrading existing public lighting.
However Spokesperson for the Clare Centre for Independent Living Dermot Hayes says the funds provide the perfect opportunity to provide equal access to local beaches.
