In a impact statement read out in court today the 19-year-old said she wanted to see a ‘life for a life’.
Richard Hinds has admitted to having both hands around Nicola’s neck on the night she died but says he has no explanation for her death.
Nicola’s mother Angela – who has also given an impact statement – asked the judge to take into account the pain Richard Hinds has caused the family and the fact that he has not taken any responsibility for what he did.
