An extension to Household Charge deadline along with exemptions for those who can’t afford it, are to be sought by members of Ennis Town Council.
The 100 euro charge is due to be paid by home-owners by March 31st, but with less than 10% signed up for the new tax so far, Ennis Councillors agreed the charge has been badly thought out and must be reviewed at their meeting last evening.

They’re now planning to write to Environment Minister Phil Hogan over these concerns.
Labour Councillor Paul O’Shea says the situation with the household charge – so far – is a mess.
