Calls have been made to extend Abbey Street Car Park in Ennis by adding an additional open-plan upper level.
Plans for a mixed-use commercial development on the site, as part of the Ennis 2040 plan, were paused in 2025 before being removed from the County Development Plan in June.
The new proposal would provide a covered space for events such as Christmas markets, while also increasing the number of car parking spaces available in the town.
Mayor of Ennis and Sinn Féin Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle says the development would be a huge addition to the town.
And you can hear more on this on Clare FM’s Morning Focus this Wednesday morning from 9am.
