Clare County Councillors have called on the local authority to cut rates charges for struggling businesses.

However, they were warned that a 1% cut would be worth less than 100 euro to 84% of business people, and still equate to one-tenth of the county’s library services budget
The Council will unveil it’s budget for next year in December, and Shannon Councillor Gerry Flynn feels the time is right to give local businesses a break
