Calls for CCTV extension after Turnpike Armed Raid

The Mayor of Ennis is calling for CCTV to be installed in the Turnpike  following a violent armed raid in the area over the weekend.

Staff and several members of the public were threatened at gunpoint during the incident at Ladbrokes on Saturday evening.

Two raiders entered the shop shortly after 7.30 and escaped with around 400 euro in a waiting Silver Audi A 5, driven by a third man – but the vehicle was abandoned a short distance away.
