Calls In Clare For Government To Make It Easier For Council To Acquire Land For Housing

There are fresh calls in Clare for the government to make it easier for the local authority to purchase land to use for social housing.

It’s after a recent Clare FM investigation revealed the number of new builds in this county in recent years has been just a fraction of the applications for houses received by the local authority in that time.

Figures from the Department of Housing suggest not a single house was built or acquired by Clare County Council in the first three months of 2021.
