Calls For CCTV To Tackle Anti-Social Behavour In Shannon Estates

Calls are being made for CCTV to be installed in Shannon housing estates in an effort to curb anti-social behaviour.

Councillor Mike McKee says there have been a number of serious incidents in recent times, and such an initiative is the only alternative to regular patrols by Gardaí, which An Garda Síochána doesn’t have the resources for.

The Sinn Fein Councillor is due to raise the matter at this month’s Shannon Municipal District meeting, where he will call on the council to come together with Gardaí and resident’s associations to provide the equipment.

Councillor McKee says people should be able to feel safe in their home.
