Calls For Campaign Posters To Be Banned In Kilrush

Calls have been made for campaign posters to be banned in Kilrush town during the next election.

Local Councillor Ian Lynch claims posters have injured pedestrians in the past and says the tradition is not an effective campaign strategy.

He believes a total ban is unrealistic but despite this he’s pushing for Kilrush town center to be poster free, which was common practice until the town council was disbanded.

The issue will be raised at the West Clare Municipal District meeting tomorrow and Councillor Lynch insists the public would be happy to see the posters go.
