Calls are being made for a ‘blitz’ to eliminate dog fouling across county Clare.
Just seven fines have been issued to people in this county for not cleaning up after their pet since 2014 – three of these have come this year.

In recent years, the local authority has rolled out the Green Dog Walker initiative, which encourages responsible dog ownership, and has erected signs in some areas urging people to clean up after their pets.
Sixmilebridge councillor John Crowe says the local authority needs to up its enforcement to eradicate the problem.
