Calls are being made for community-based alternatives to nursing homes to be introduced.
The COVID-19 Nursing Home Expert Panel has heard that there are substantial numbers of vulnerable people inappropriately placed in nursing homes against there will due to lack of alternatives.
Sage Advocacy, which supports vulnerable adults, older people and healthcare patients has recommended that nursing homes should be integrated into the wider health snd social care system.
