Calls To Alleviate Classroom Overcrowding

Calls have been made for school buildings in Clare to be upgraded to alleviate overcrowding in classrooms.

It’s after Department of Education figures revealed that 19.1 percent of pupils in Clare schools are in classes of 30 or more.

However, the national number of 118,000 pupils in oversized classes is down 2 percent on the previous year, after extra teachers were hired.
