It’s hoped a pilot scheme will be set up in Clare to encourage members of the public to report those who are wrongly parking in disabled spaces.
A scheme in Dun Laoghaire has already seen signs erected by disabled parking spaces, which has a text number for people to report cars parking there without the correct passes.

Independent Ennis Councillor Ann Norton wants it to be trialled in Clare’s main towns to crack down on what she’s labelled a persistent problem.
The local authority has said that such a scheme could be considered and Cllr Norton wants harsher punishments brought in for those who responsible:
