Clare County Council is to write to the government, urging them to implement measures to tackle fraudulent insurance claims.
In September, the Personal Injuries Commission outlined a number of measures to tackle the issue, including the establishment of a Garda fraud bureau to investigate suspicious claims.

The recommendations are yet to be brought in and these instances are said to be leading to insurance premium costs spiralling out of control across all sectors.
