Call For Harsher Punishments For Those Caught Littering

There are calls in Clare for harsher punishments for those caught dumping and littering.

It’s after figures released by Clare County Council show that the number of complaints relating to these offences rose by 150 last year to 1,390.

Additionally, there were 131 fines issued to those caught littering, with 65 paid by the year-end, bringing in €9,750 for the local authority.
