Clare County Council is being called on to commit to putting community CCTV schemes in place around the county.
Fianna Fáil’s Cathal Crowe says the schemes, which can be part-funded by the government for up to €40,000, would help crack down on anti-social behaviour.

Each Municipal District has been invited to discuss their individual needs for such a scheme in consultation with the Rural Development Directorate.
Cllr Crowe believes a commitment by the local authority will take the burden of tackling crime and anti-social behaviour off cash-strapped community groups.
