Clare County Council is being called on to consider providing short-term accommodation sites for travellers who don’t wish to live in houses.
Fianna Fáil’s Clare Colleran-Molloy is concerned about an alleged illegal encampment on the Kilrush Road in Ennis and believes a designated area would mean safer living conditions.

She has raised the issue with Ennis Municipal District and has been assured the matter is being investigated.
Ballybeg Councillor Colleran-Molloy says putting a site in place for them will prevent future illegal and dangerous pop up encampments.
