Call For Action To Prevent Cars Slipping Into Lough Derg

Clare County Council is being called on to immediately put safety measures in place, to prevent further cars from slipping into Lough Derg at Mountshannon.

It follows an incident this week, during which a family of three escaped unharmed, when their car entered the water at Knockaphort.

The incident happened at the bank nearest to Holy Island, which is a popular stopping point for both locals and visitors to the area.
