The cabinet will today consider the implications of An Bord Pleanála’s decision to reject planning permission for the new national children’s hospital.
The health minister James Reilly has set up a committee which will provide the government
with a series of options.

But ministers will still have to decide whether the the committee should look at the viability of
a new site somewhere else.
The cabinet will also look at setting up a second committee to see if the planning process
allows for discussions with An Bord Pleanala to make sure that projects
being developed are not rejected in their final stages.
