Cabinet To Discuss Garda Tapes Ahead Of No Confidence Vote In Shatter

The Attorney General has arrived at Government Buildings ahead of a Cabinet meeting which could see her face difficult questions.

She's also reported to have told former Commissioner Martin Callinan that all recordings made in Garda stations were not to be destroyed – something that sources close to Mr Callinan reportedly say he hadn't considered doing.

Meanwhile, the Dail will begin debating a motion of no confidence in the Minister for Justice today.

The Fianna Fáil motion will claim that the recent scandal surrounding the Garda Tapes has left Alan Shatter unfit for office.
