Siemens Awarded €50 Million Contract For Moneypoint Synchronous Compensator

Siemens Energy is to receive the contract for the 50 million euro construction of the Synchronous Compensator at Moneypoint.

The device will be used in the West Clare plant to enable system operators to manage the facility’s transmission system safely and securely.

The ESB says the investment is a key part of their plans to transform Moneypoint into a green energy hub with the capacity to power 1.6 million homes by 2030.
