Clare County Council is urging businesses not to supply any waste material to people who don’t have a valid waste collection permit.
The local authority says that traditionally, Halloween has been used by some an an excuse to illegally dispose of waste material on bonfires.

Last year there were 7 bonfire incidents over the Halloween period, down from 15 the previous year, with the fire service attending 5 incidents in Ennis, 1 in Newmarket on Fergus and 1 in Shannon at a cost of 5,000 euro.
