The Social Protection Minister’s confirmed cuts to child benefit and the dole ARE up for discussion for the budget.
It’s been reported a ten-euro-a-month cut to child benefit and an eight-euro-a-week dole cut are possible – despite the Labour party pledging not to allow such cuts.

Minister Joan Burton says she’s fighting for other areas to be hit instead – such as employers paying sick pay, and not giving redundancy payments to multi-nationals that move jobs from Ireland.
