The Burren Food Trail has been announced as one of four Irish finalists in a European Tourism competition.

The European Destination of Excellence award, with Tourism and Local Gastronomy as its theme, sees the North Clare food trail shortlisted alongside other nominees in Sligo, Mayo and Waterford.
An on-site assessment will be carried out by a panel of adjudicators in the coming weeks, before the winners are announced later this month.
