One of Clare’s leading animal welfare centres is appealing for help after a vital element of it’s facility was destroyed during Storm Ashley.
As winds of over 106km/h battered the county, the roof of the haybarn at Burren Animal Rescue in Tubber, was blown off, causing extensive damage to the galvanized steel structure, supporting walls and pillars.
The incident left 65 bales of hay worth €3,250 exposed to the adverse conditions and the charity is now seeking assistance from the local community to repair and rebuild.
Burren Animal Rescue Board member Sheena Twist says they need all hands on deck.
