The Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark has been designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The decision was made at a conference in Paris, and puts the world-famous North Clare landscape on the same level as other UNESCO designated sites such as Newgrange and the Giant’s Causeway.
It's also one of only 120 UNESCO Global Geoparks across the world.
Carol Gleeson, Manager, Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark says this latest recognition will help them to continue to balance conservation and tourism in the region.
