A Bunratty community group says it hopes future proposals for the Shannon Shamrock site will add to the village instead of destroying it.
Plans for a redevelopment of the site of the former hotel involving the construction of 67 houses were refused by An Coimisiún Pleanála in May over tourism concerns.

The Bunratty Economic Development Association, which was set up in 2013 to shape the future of the south-east Clare village, lodged an appeal against the plans.
Its chairman, Kevin O’Connor, says they didn’t expect their objection to have the result it did.
