A West Clare musician who was the victim of a vicious attack over six years ago has spoken of his relief after the man responsible was sentenced today.

Noel Hill from Caherea, Lissycasey was set upon in the toilet of a Connemara pub, and sustainted serious injuries which caused him to fear for his life.
At Galway Circuit Criminal Court, 55-year old Michael Folan from An Teach Mór, Lettermullen, Co. Galway was given a seven year prison sentence, with the final three years suspended, after he pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly causing harm.
