Minister Richard Bruton is visiting Tulla today to perform the official opening of St Joseph's Secondary School, which was constructed under the Government's five year School Building Programme.

He'll also open a new 4 million euro extension at St Patrick's Comprehensive in Shannon.

A quarter of children in Clare are in so-called supersized classes of 30 or more.

Minister Bruton says the hiring of an additional 2,500 teachers in September has helped to reduce class sizes but he believes steps can be taken to support teaching in other ways.
