The Clare branch of the Brothers of Charity has been awarded 160,000 euro as part of a new partnership scheme between the Government and private interests.
The Genio Trust was formed by the Department of Community Affairs and Equality, the HSE and a Philanthropic group – it will support ptojects which support the transition from institutional to personalised models of care in disability and mental health services.

In all 35 initiatives are being supported under it’s first round of funding – as well as the Brothers of Charity in Clare, the Galway based Ability West and the Galway Centre for Independent Living Ltd have also been honoured.
The initiatives will share a total of 2.6 million euro.
