ESB and Vodafone's fibre broadband project will benefit 50 towns across all 26 counties by 2018 – and will be deployed via ESB's power infrastructure.
Vodafone says it will be able to offer regional users speeds of up to 1 Giga-bit (pron: giga-bit) per second – fast enough to download a full film in 2 seconds.
