Farming organisations have joined with Clare’s government representatives in welcoming the decision to introduce a grants scheme for home-owners who may be forced to replace their septic tanks.

Environment Minister Phil Hogan has announced that up to 4,000 euro will be given to home-owners who are forced to replace their tanks after inspections are introduced in the New Year.
However, the funds will only be given to people who have registered their tanks be February 1st next.
Harold Kingston, Chair of the IFA’s Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, feels it’s a fair compromise.
