The Health Service Executive has confirmed a five-year, 190 thousand euro funding package to help run the unit which offers much needed services to elderly people in Clarecastle and the greater Ennis area.

The 850-thousand euro dementia unit was built in 2009, but it was some time before Clarecastle Daycare Centre received recognition from the HSE for the service.

Board Member Heber McMahon says they’re delighted with the announcement and are hopeful that with more funding boosts in the years ahead can be used to further expand the service.
