A Clare County Councillor says the roll-out of a free screening programme for ovarian cancer could help save lives.

Ovarian cancer has historically been known as the silent killer as symptoms are often similar to digestive issues.
The local authority is calling on the Minister for Health and the HSE to consider including the Ovarian Cancer Blood Test CA 125 in a free screening programme.
Councillor Mary Howard hopes the Minister for Health will heed the council’s calls.
