The official opening of a highly-anticipated piece of infrastructure in Clare will take place this afternoon.
The completed Killaloe Bypass, Brian Boru Bridge and R494 Improvements Scheme will be unveiled by the Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien at 3pm.

The three-pronged project includes a western bypass around the town of Killaloe and a new bridge crossing the River Shannon roughly one kilometre south of the existing Killaloe Bridge.
Widening, regarding and local realignment works have also been carried out on the R494 between its junction with the R496 and the new Brian Boru Bridge, and its junction with the R445.
