Clare's Junior Minister hopes a new low cost transatlantic service at Shannon Airport will provide a tourism boost for the county.
It comes as Norwegian Air International has been given a licence to operate flights between Ireland and the US, despite concerns it would look to circumvent labour laws.
Shannon began negotiations with the airline in 2014 and the Airport says it's looking forward to welcoming Norwegian services to Shannon "in due course".
