Outgoing TD Michael McNamara has conceded defeat in the 2016 General Election.

Clare's Labour candidate requested a re-count last night after count 11 left him trailing Fianna Fail's Michael McDonagh by less than 90 votes.
However, Mr. McNamara has this morning admitted to Clare FM that he will not make up the gap and says it's now time to bow out.
However, he's not ruling out a return to politics in the future.
