The bravery of two Clare people has been honoured at a ceremony in Dublin..
Padraig Sheehan and Garda Margaret Purcell, both from Ennis, were given the national bravery awards at a ceremony in Farmleigh House last evening.

Padraig Sheehan was honoured for confronting a dangerous knife-wielding man who was threatening a woman on Christmas Day 2001, while Garda Purcell was given her award for saving a woman from the water at Cappa Pier, Kilrush on St. Patrick’s Day 2003.
Both were presented with Bronze Medals and Certificates of Bravery by Ceann Comhairle Sean Barrett last evening.
